GLENBROOK STUDIOS® CINELAB™ for SCREENWRITERS

Glenbrook Studios® offers a workshop program tailored to the aspiring screenwriter. Each succeeding workshop requires satisfactory completion of the prior workshop. Access to the entire program is $1500. Discounts, scholarships, work for trade, and installment arrangements are available to those who qualify. Individual tutoring and coaching is also available for students 18 years of age and older, or younger if accompanied by an adult. Each level is $595, if purchased separately.

S-I. The Story - At the core of filmmaking is storytelling, which will be examined and explored in terms of Premise, Plot, Characters, Elements and Devices.

S-II. Screenwriting as a Career - An intensive one-day workshop consisting of the following areas of training:

The Magic of Cinematic Storytelling: The inside scoop on the fundamental tricks to suspend disbelief;

The Practicality of Writing a Screenplay: The obligations every screenwriter should live up to;

The Legality of Screenwriting: How to protect your work;

The Perseverence Factor: What it really takes to see your script to completion and into production;

Keeping the Ball Rolling: How to avoid writer's block.

S-III. Ensemble Work - This very intensive weekend-long or multiple-Saturday workshop focuses on working hands-on as a complete Team, Developing Content, Writing on Set, Testing Your Limits, Cinematic Challenges, Making Adjustments and Delivering Your Best Effort, at each Producer's command.

S-IV. Internship* - Working as an intern on a professional production.

S-V. Contract* - Signed on as employee/sub-contractor for professional production.

Sessions are scheduled once sign-up reaches minimum threshhold. If you have not heard from us in awhile, your name is still on a waiting list. No one is admitted to these classes outside our audition/interview selection process. No auditing. Seniority is given to former students.

We will contact you once we have openings. Be prepared to explain why you want training and, if accepted to The Program, work hard.

ATTENTION: Acceptance to the Glenbrook Studios® Cinelab™ workshop will be determined by audition and/or interview. Not all applicants will be accepted. There are no refunds (use it or lose it) but tuition may be transferable, depending on the class and if permitted by the instructor. Most "weekend-long" workshops include hot meals and guest instructors from the industry.
